Smiths At Gretna Green Hotel, Gretna Green

The hotel is situated perfectly opposite the Blacksmith shop, ideal for our wedding venue, with a comfortable room yet a slight reservation initially. The rooms are a mix; very modern and clean but with some badly stained areas, featuring a lovely fireplace and spacious bathroom. The service by the hotel was not friendly overall, with marks on the base of the bed next to the balcony, although efforts were made to make our stay memorable, even with some restrictions like complimentary breakfast not affecting the room rate. The location is excellent for wedding events and exploring the area between Yorkshire and Scotland. The dining experience in the room was subpar, lacking variety and quality.

My stay at the hotel was above expectations overall. The room was lovely, comfortable, and very clean, although the bathroom had some issues. The check-in process was smooth with the reception offering to notify me when the room was ready. The bed was extremely comfortable, providing a good night's rest.

The hotel was okay, without a wow factor like higher-end chains. It needs an upgrade but is decent for the price. The service was mixed, ranging from helpful to unsatisfactory. The location is ideal for weddings and local attractions, despite minor flaws. The dining experience had some highs and lows, with good food but certain disappointments.
